An evening with artist & musician Rieko Whitfield '15

University Room: Pierre Salinger Grand Salon (C-103)
Tuesday, November 14, 2023 - 18:00

Join us for an evening with AUP alumna, artist and musician Rieko Whitfield ’15!

In her talk, Rieko will share about her artistic work and accomplishments, as well as her path from an AUP student (directing early issues of the Peacock Magazine!), to the multi-faceted career she leads today. While demystifying life as an artist, she will share insights on how to create partnerships with cultural institutions, self-branding and entrepreneurship, and more.

About Rieko

Japanese-American Rieko Whitfield is a visual artist, musician, and self-described “experimental pop witch.” A recent artist-in-residence at the Tate Modern in London, and graduate of the Royal College of Art, Whitfield has gained a cult following in London through mesmerising live performances equally suited for the museum and the club. She is the founding director of the expanded performance platform Diasporas Now. Her debut EP Regenesis has been hailed as “hauntingly beautiful” by BBC Sounds, and “both intimate and colossal” by Sleek Magazine.
