This one-day excursion offers students an opportunity to experience the richness of the French language in Villers-Cotterêts, home to the Cité internationale de la langue française. Located in the historic château where King François I declared French the official language of the kingdom, the site offers an immersive journey through centuries of linguistic and cultural evolution. From royal ordinances to today’s global voices, the visit highlights how French has grown, adapted, and connected people across continents. This excursion invites participants to explore the many (hi)stories that have shaped French into a living, shared language with deep roots and worldwide resonance.
