Traditional desk phones are no longer ideal for today’s hybrid work environment. To support modern collaboration, the University is enabling telephony through Microsoft Teams—its preferred and supported communication platform.

About your Teams Phone

  • Your Teams Phone isn’t a physical device like your old desk or mobile phone – it’s a software-based solution built into the Teams app. It's accessible via the Calls icon in your Teams client.
  • You can answer Teams Phone calls directly from the Teams app on your desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile phone—anywhere you have an internet connection. You can even switch between devices seamlessly during a call.
Things to know
  • Every Administrative Staff and full-time Faculty Members have a dedicated assigned French or U.S. phone number. Numbers can be assigned to part-time faculty if requested by Academic Affairs.
  • Shared numbers can be assigned to units in the form of a call queue. Their configuration needs to be done in coordination with IT Services.
  • Teams phone is reserved to professional calls, please restrict your personal calls.
