GPS Certificate Requirements

To Qualify for Global Professional Skills Certificate and CCX credit, undergraduate students must complete the 6 GPS workshops and the Career Field Study - Working with Others, described below, by the end of their senior year.

The GPS Pitch Lab and GPS Pitch Competition are optional activities.

  1. Finding your AUP Path – Examine areas of career interest to spark your curiosity, helping you frame your academic, co-curricular and career pursuits at AUP and beyond.
  2. Power up Your Resume – Tips to get started on or improve your resume and ensure that it is ready for a job search in the AI age.
  3. Crafting a Cover Letter – Learn to write an effective cover letter to showcase your interest and fit for your target career opportunities.
  4. Culture in the Workplace -– Gain tools for understanding cultural professional differences and building cultural intelligence in the workplace.
  5. Networking Primer - Tell Me About Yourself – Create an engaging summary of your background and skills to show your network how your experience and qualifications are relevant for your target career opportunities.
  6. The Two Hour Job Search – Learn how to select, prioritize, and make contact with potential employers.

 

Career Field Study -  Working with Others:  Enhance your understanding of the complexities, challenges and rewards of working with others as well as your capacity to address these situations through work or service experiences.  A reflection paper is required to complete this exercise.
