January Transit Strike Update

THIS POST IS A REPUBLISHED VERSION OF AN EMAIL COMMUNICATION SENT BY AUP VICE PRESIDENT FOR SECURITY, OPERATIONS AND STUDENT SERVICES MARC MONTHEARD TO STUDENTS ON January 6, 2020, ABOUT THE TRANSIT STRIKE IN PARIS. IT IS PART OF OUR SAFETY & SECURITY BLOG THAT ROUNDS UP ALL THE LATEST NEWS AND UPDATES FOR OUR COMMUNITY.

The public transportation strikes that started in the fall are still ongoing. Traffic is disrupted, though there seems to be more metros, trams and buses running as of this week.

Therefore, we advise you to keep checking the RATP website to see what’s available when you need to move around Paris: https://www.ratp.fr/en/infos-trafic. You can also use their tool to find the best itinerary based on the traffic forecast at https://www.ratp.fr/en/itineraires.

Talks between the government and the trade unions are scheduled for this coming week, as well as some demonstrations on the 9th of January; we will keep you updated if anything significant happens.

If you have any specific concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at studentdevelopmentataup.edu

In the meantime, bon courage!
