Depending on your student status, you are eligible for the following housing options:

Incoming undergraduate students

You are required to arrange your housing through the University, either in a shared student apartment or in a homestay. For the 2020-2021 school year, most of our new students are housed in full-service residences and apartment-hotels with cleaning services and 24/7 reception.

We are still finalizing our offer for Spring and Fall 2021, please check back in November 2020 for more details.

  • Homestays. If you are looking for an intimate, personal introduction into Parisian life, you may want to consider a homestay. Students who live in a homestay may have an opportunity to practice their French and will glean local insight from a Parisian. Homestay options through the Housing Office vary, but generally include a single room in a large Parisian family apartment. Some of our hosts are working couples with children, while others are single or retired. The Housing Office will work with you to find the best possible option for your first year at AUP.

Graduate students and returning undergraduates

You are ready to live on your own in Paris and have the option of searching for an independent apartment through our Housing Office or finding something on your own.

Independent Rooms and Private Apartments. AUP’s Housing Office is a free service for our students.  We collect listings from independent landlords in Paris and advertise available apartments on our internal database. Prices for apartments in our network vary greatly, but on average most of our students pay €500 – €900 per month for rent.  Electricity and Internet are not generally included in rent, and together should cost around €80 – €100 per month total.

Your own search. If you plan to search for housing outside of our network, check out our housing resources or feel free to consult our guide: Searching for Housing on Your Own.pdf
