Graduation FAQs

When and where will the ceremony take place?

The AUP Commencement Ceremony 2024 will take place on Friday, May 24 at Théâtre du Châtelet, Place du Châtelet, 75001 Paris (Metro: Châtelet)

 

Will the ceremony be live-streamed?

A live-stream will not be available. A recording of the ceremony will be available on the following day on AUP's YouTube channel.

 

Will there be any celebrations after the Commencement Ceremony?

Yes. Following the ceremony, there will be a champagne cocktail at the theater for all the people who attended the ceremony from about 12:30 noon to 2:30pm. Furthermore, there will be the Graduation Gala, consisting of the dinner with cocktail and a party for the people who will have signed up. Learn more on the Graduation Gala page.

 

If I cannot pick up my gown before the ceremony, how can I receive it?

You can designate a friend/family member to pick up your regalia and tickets at the AUP Bookstore. You must email the AUP Bookstore at bookstoreataup.edu (subject: Graduation%20Regalia%20and%20Tickets) with the full name of the person who will pick up your regalia and tickets. You must also indicate: your full name, height and degree type (BA or MA).

 

How many tickets can I buy for my family?

You will receive two free tickets and can buy as many additional tickets as you want and until there is no remaining spaces left. Tickets become available in April.

 

What is the dress code for the Graduation Gala?

Formal attire is required for all guests, including a conservative jacket and tie for men. Jeans, athletic shoes or casual clothing are not permitted.

Those not adhering to the dress code, even those who have already paid for tickets, will not be admitted. 

 

Do I need to buy a ticket for my young child?

Children under 3 years of age can attend free of charge and do not require a ticket.
